We started the second half of there term with collagraphs. This is a relatively new technique in the history of printing and could be summed up as, printing with anything that stays still enough to be glued down.
First of all we used polycarbonate as the plate and fixed things to that. It’s quick and waterproof.
you might recognise this plate. I’ve added tape, stickers, foam shapes and wire as well as coloured inks. More experimentation
Then we had homework. A week to make the more typical type of collagraphs from card, sealed with button polish. I’ve made collagraphs from card in the past. Here are some of my images from 2008-9.
