Brick space is crashing my life

So here is a picture of a cat. That’s what the internet is for an’t it.

Thoughts about projects and last day of term fun.

By the time I actually manage to write these blog posts sometimes the thoughts therein have gone round and round and round and I hardly know where anything is, but I’m trying to make sense of what I want to do with my work and the opportunities I have at the studio.
This post will be a place marker for some serious considerations of projects I’ve been fighting with over time and their likely next step. Hop to the next post to look at pictures, both past and present, if you want to skip all my blathering.

Losing the Plot (a bit)

I’ve been struggling with the star charts, and so they have fallen away somewhat while i’ve dealt with all the other projects I’ve managed to involve my self with. It’s taken awhile to get everything sorted out it my head let alone on paper, so this is why this post is being written in January even though the problem arose in November.* Read the rest of this entry »

Journeys in eleven dimensions

Sometime last spring I was asked to produce an image of the eleventh Dimension. Lucky there was an incursion that week in the back garden and i managed to capture this image.

Truncated Dodecahedron?

This isn’t really a Dodecahedron. But I don’t know a better name for the form*. You can see better images of 20 joined columbus cubes here.

So like the post a fortnight ago I have been working through the  geometry of joining columbus cubes to make a spherical body.

Here are a series of photos that take you through the process.

Mmm. Shiny… Squirrel!!

Last week I moved the last of my stuff out of storage. (anyone one want a two draw red file cabinet?)

This has given me access to all sorts of projects that have been on hold for a while. (some notes are dated 2008. (at least they are dated.))

I’ve been thinking on so many things that I’ve been struggling with my words. I’ve a number of big posts I’ve been trying to shape into something coherent over the last few weeks but no luck (luck! sheer hard work) yet. Probably because there are too many ideas in a single sentence.

So I wouldn’t be starting anything new, any time soon. Just trying to reinforce and regroup what i all ready know/do. Which is probably too much anyway.

Yet to let you know I haven’t disappeared completely into the August haze.

Wunderkammer

There is an exhibition of Doll’s Houses at the V&A’s Museum of Childhood in bethnal green. We went on a particularly hot day and peered through the glass as children flowed like the tide around our feet. Read the rest of this entry »

Sometimes

Sometimes I know I get a bit over conscious of what every I’m trying to do. Over thinking things and what not. So while feeding my loom band habit I grabbed a £5 mega craft jar and decided to get stuck in. Read the rest of this entry »
