Soya sauce fish

Forever when ever anyone had take away sushi (usually me) Mum would say -save me the little fish, I’m going to make something from them one day.

She would squirrel them away amongst the best china like all the other interesting things she collected, even when they became prosaic.

She never got to do anything with them.
