Journeys in the Eleventh Dimension

Apparently you can’t cut damp tissue paper across the grain.

You can layer preprinted papers and use masks to ‘remove’ part of the printed image. I’m not the best pleased with the colours, but I’m using what I have

So journeys in 11D is a bit of an in-joke. This one is origami windmills and sample plates.

Maybe there needs to by a little detail work in metallic colours, and more care to line things up.

The red was added after printing with relief ink. Purple sphere is chine colle mask from some violet mono prints.

If you layer up your papers you can get one to stick to the backing paper and one to mask the ink from the plate.

More proof

So about a month ago I posted about reworking some of my star chart plates. Here are some images of the results with added chine collé. I’ve also got some work up for the next few weeks at Morley College. Thanks for stopping by if you’ve already seen those prints.

Dry Point Plus

Here are some prints that didn’t get printed last term. We moved on to new techniques and these got left behind. I’m sure you can see the relation to  previously posted prints.

Samples 3 – Solvents

Subtractive Monotypes are made by removing the ink from a relief plate selectively after the plate has been uniformly inked.
